Frequently Asked Questions
What time should I plan to arrive?
Doors open at 8:00 a.m. and remain open throughout the event. Some guests begin to line up outside of the school as early as 7:45 a.m., and others prefer to arrive after 8:15 a.m. to try and avoid the line altogether.
Where does the event take place?
The breakfast is hosted in the cafeteria, with open seating at the picnic-style tables and self-serve breakfast stations. Guests are also welcome to shop the book fair located in the school library.
Is the event crowded?
This is a popular PTA event with over 450 people each morning. Many people get in line early, so the biggest crowd is usually from 8:00 to 8:20 a.m. Families are welcome to arrive slightly later, after the initial rush, to avoid waiting in line outside. Once inside, there will be plenty of food for all guests, and volunteers will do their best to encourage those who have finished eating to visit the book fair and free up table space.
How many grandparents can my student bring?
There is no limit for grandparents per student. Please make sure to RSVP online or by returning the flyer so we have an accurate headcount for ordering food.
Will there be enough food if we don't arrive right when the doors open?
Yes!
What if my student and/or grandparents can't come on their designated day?
We split this event into two days because we simply couldn't host all students and their grandparents on one day! The easiest way to make that split is alphabetically by last name, but it is not mandatory. If grandparents are able to attend on the day that matches your student's last name, we ask that they please do so. But if there are scheduling conflicts for the student or grandparents on the assigned date, you may RSVP for the other date instead.
Do we really have to leave right at 9:00 a.m.?
Yes. As much as we would love for everyone to stay and relax, students need to get to their classrooms and volunteers need to begin cleaning up so gym classes and lunch sessions can begin on time. We appreciate your help keeping us on schedule!
Do you need volunteers?
YES! This two-day event is a huge undertaking and more volunteers makes everything run smoothly. There are morning and evening slots for before, during, and after the event. This is also a great volunteer opportunity for older siblings who need service learning hours. Click here to see how you can help!
